A petite cafe for fresh, local and organic brunch!

First things first- lets get started by saying Sydney is all about the sweet treats for breakfast while Ian eats the savory and hardy dishes. It's the perfect combination and allows us to try a little bit of everything!

Pulling up to Greenwich Cafe we noticed it was smaller than we thought. It's located on the edge of a strip mall but has an adorable little outdoor garden to enjoy when it's not -8 degrees out.

As we walked in, we were told right away to seat ourselves and we chose a little table by the window. (This was only one of three tables open at 11:30am which could tell you a little something hint hint we were in for a treat)

Within seconds our waitress was over to take our drink order. There's only about 10 tables or so, it allows the staff to not be too overwhelmed. They were so attentive the entire time. You could tell this was a family place. A place that valued each and every customer and wanted to make you feel warm and welcome into their home.

After glancing at the menu we quickly knew what we wanted. Ian selected the Biscuits and Gravy: two homemade biscuits served with two eggs and homemade sausage gravy and he added breakfast potatoes on the side. Sydney chose the Specialty French Toast which consisted of three slices of original french toast stuffed with greek yogurt and blueberries and added on a side of bacon. About 5-10 minutes later our food was in front of us and our mouths were watering.

Everything was incredible. The potatoes were such a pleasant surprise and so unique. Their potatoes are made with maple syrup and baked, not deep fried. Delicious. The biscuits were slightly harder than normal but the sausage gravy made up for that! The gravy was thick and creamy with a rich pepper flavor with delightful sausage folded in. For the first time in a long time Ian had to throw in the towel with a little left on his plate.

First look at the French Toast- it was alluring. It made you want to dive right in. The first bite was unexpected but still scrumptious. With a stuffed french toast you're sometimes overwhelmed with sweetness and sugar but this was the perfect amount. The greek yogurt balanced out the bread and blueberries and hit all aspects of the palate. Add a tiny bit of syrup and it was the perfect combination. The bacon added just the right savory-ness and crunch to the meal. The bacon was the perfect thickness and cooked to the point where it just melted in your mouth- the best kind.

Overall- we can't wait to go back. Every thing was so fresh, so delectable, and so comfortable. And we loved that you could also order a bloody mary or a mimosa if your heart desires! Definitely a new spot on our list!
